Duluth News-Tribune (MN) - May 19, 2001 Deceased Name: GETZEL ROBERT KENNER Getzel Robert Kenner, 71 of Madison, Conn., died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, in the Connecticut Hospice in Branford, Conn. He was the beloved husband of Joan E. (Stapleton) Kenner. He was the son of the late Benjamin and Elsie (Pomush) Kenner, born Jan. 5, 1930, in Superior. Mr. Kenner was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He was a member of the Madison Country Club. He was a loving father and grandfather. Beside his wife, he is survived by sons Robert (Charlotte) Kenner of Fairlawn, Ohio, and Mark (Donna) Kenner of Wilmington, Del.; daughters Deborah (Phil) Clark of Greenwich, Conn., Kathleen (Bob) Scoville of Cheshire, Conn., and Lisa (Michael) Plat of Branford, Conn.,; a brother Arnold Kenner of Duluth; and 12 grandchildren. Service: 10 a.m. Monday in Swan Funeral Home, Madison. Burial in West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Getzel R. Kenner Memorial Fund to be used for prostate cancer research. Contributions may be sent to California Community Foundation, 445 S. Figueroa St., Suite 3400, Los Angeles, CA, 90071-1638.
